Then when a new user tries to post, the post appears in the WP Dashboard, under Forums > Moderation. I also see a number in a red circle on the Moderation menu item, indicating there are new posts to be reviewed.
I wish it would send an email (or give me the option) when a new post is awaiting review. Otherwise, I have to login and check periodically.
Please note, that there is no separate settings for sending email notification when a new unapproved topic or reply is posted. It controls the same Topic and Post notification settings for admin in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Emails admin page. If these options are disabled you'll not get notification for Unapproved posts too:

But wpForo does that. Email for moderation needed to be done by admin.
I get emails for reported posts, new messages, etc. but I get nothing for new unapproved posts.
wpForo sends the notification email when new topic is created. If a topic is unapproved it adds an extra information that the topic need to be approved in according admin page.
