You've done something wrong for sure. This is a syntax error and this is a result of incomplete or inaccurate changes.
In any case you if you don't want to show sub-forum with parent forums you can disable the "Threaded Layout - Display Sub Forums with Parent Forums" option in Dashboard >Forums > Settings > Forums Tab:
@martin Thank you! I gave a look at what i was doing wrong and you were right, my mistake was functions.php into wpforo/ directory.
