Yoast works with wpForo, still it is a heavy plugin (without any benefits).
Use SEO FRAMEWORK, excellent and light plugin and the developer's support (Sybre's) is amazing.

I havent tested SEO FRAMEWORK because i am very satisfied with yoast.
BTW I just looked for first time to it and i looks interesting.

As you probably see, i didn't respond to you but to the original poster. So it is not about if i agree with you or anything.
Just focusing on the guys question.

There are too many SEO plugins which are providing best SEO to your page.
I know Yoast is the best one for SEO but apart then Yoast there are some SEO plugin which is also up to the mark
I create a list of these SEO plugins
- SEMrush
- Google Keyword Planner
- KeywordTool
- Open Site Explorer
- Rel NoFollow Checkbox

What do you mean is not compatible yoast.
I use yoast and is fine.
During yoast configuration wizard, Wpforo does not display as custom post type (eg post, pages, questions, forum etc) that search engines should crawl. Also when i source coded WP FORO I could not find SEO meta tag for forum such as <meta property=”og:type” content=”forum” />.
Something else to do for your seo is to create a big pinging list and try SEO BOOSTER, works with yoast , adds keywords in your pages from the searches in google, transforms the tags into links,etc.
Something that you maybe havent noticed, wp sees wpforo as 1 page, the internal forum seo has to be made with tags when you make the posts.
Yoast is compatible with wpForo. Compatible means it doesn't overwrite wpForo SEO tags. wpForo already generates all SEO tags and has all SEO features. wpForo doesn't need any SEO plugin, but you should use those for other parts of your website. So wpForo disables SEO plugins only on forum pages.
Yoast is successfully disabled on forum page and enabled on other pages so it's compatible. Other SEO plugins may overwrite wpForo SEO. If the SEO Framework plugin also disabled on forum page it's compatible too. Otherwise it should be integrated with wpForo and generate forum and topic specific tags, which is very hard because those are not regular post types.
So using some SEO plugin for website make sure it's disable on forum pages. This is the best practice.
