| RE: spam in profiles - stop links | 16 Relevance | 4 years ago | JasonToth | How-to and Troubleshooting | |
| Great! Thank you so much! Two questions: 1. Will the Spammers see that they can't do a link when they go to make a new account? 2. What happens with all of the links in the Profiles that are already there, will it keep the profile and just strip out the links or will it erase the whole profile? Thanks so much! Jason | |||||

| Using: BuddyBoss Platform Version 2.8.30 with BuddyX Version 4.8.1 Is there a way to link Profiles to their corresponding BuddyBoss Profiles? Instead of the wpForo profile? Whenever I select the Buddypress option it breaks my site. Attachment : Screenshot-2025-04-05-130717.png | |||||

| @lisayoung, You just need to disable: "Enable User Profile Page" option, for Profiles and that's all for Profiles. Nothing else. | |||||

| I would like to turn an existing forum into a public archive of topics. I know how to make user Profiles read-only, but would like to set it so that no registrations are possible, and no ability to create Profiles, so that the forum is not overrun with fake accounts. | |||||

| RE: "Spam Suspicion Level for Topics" | 15 Relevance | 12 months ago | Sofy | How-to and Troubleshooting | |
| Hi, These numbers starts from 1 to 100. It's the Spam suspicion level. If the number is high wpForo Spam control suspicion is also high and it'll set topics and posts as unaproved when it finds some small issue. I'd also recommend you check out this FAQ: | |||||
| Spam attack even after uninstalling | 15 Relevance | 1 year ago | Boodah | How-to and Troubleshooting | |
| Hello, I installed the wpforo plugin. However I get a lot of Spam, sometimes 200 per day. I tried adjusting the settings so that messages are moderated but it didn't change anything. Currently having 136,000 Spam messages, I have even banned new topics. I still had lots of new topics arriving in droves in my mailbox. So I uninstalled the plugin but I notice that I still receive messages informing me of the creation of a new topic (spam obviously, we are almost at 10 per minute!)How to stop this? THANKS | |||||
