With the newest upgrades, it hard to think of what can be added to make wpforro better.
Collectively im sure we can come up with some ideas on features for future upgrades.

My first suggestion would be a wpforro chat!
This is the main thing missing i think. I have to outsource for mine, it would be so much better to have one integrated with WPforo. Especially if the posts made in chat could also be added to forum posts. I have over 50k posts in my chat feed. It would have been epic to have those in the forum instead.
Maybe something as simple as a forum section that auto refreshes and show new posts every couple of seconds?
Second would be Members Gallery
Where users could click a link to see images uploaded by a certain user. Or a place on a user profile page where they can display their favourite images
Third Suggestion
Friend request.... no reason really, other than some social network users like this sort of thing.

The second one is already in our to-do list. But the first and third are not. We 'll add profile related features like "Friends" once the wpForo profile system is totally redesigned and improved in next major version. The chat maybe an addon, I can't say it exactly yet.

I would pay! A chat ad on would be epic, I use Chatwee right now, its really good, but does not site well with the forum and slows the site down a bit. To have a wpforo integrated chat would be epic

Also, I want my forum to be more like a live chat, some forum software already works this way. Like, when you post a reply, it updates on all members pages, much like a live chat/ discord kind of thing.
Would it be possible to implement something like this? Then essentially we wont need a chat, the forum will be like one......

We've tried to create a chat solution for wpForo, but it doesn't have a future. Because WordPress and the PHP cannot perform a large amount of concurrent requests to via AJAX. WordPress AJAX system is very heavy, even the REST API cannot perform chat app properly. Your website and server will be overloaded and crashed.
So, we've decided to move the server side to a centralized system. All request will be sent to a server with an APP created with other technologies especially for such softwares. In other words, the chat is planned to be a service. You'll need to create an account in the centralized service and install the addon. I'm sorry, but this will be a paid service, so you'll need to subscribe to run the chat on your forum. And this is planned with 2.x version of wpForo.
This is currently in the idea stage. Our devs are preparing information and will discuss soon. This is not a quick project, this is a standalone service which requires lots of work. I'd not expect this addon during the next few months. So it's not a good idea to rely on this at the moment. I'm sorry, but this is a long term project and may take months.
