Hi,
My website over at https://inocul8r.net/session/community seemed to be rather slow compared to the remainder of the site which uses WP-Rocket for caching. I've decided to disable completely the wpForo cache, and and now using WP-Rocket to cache the content (there is a setting for private logged in user cache, which seems to work quite well).
Performance has increased massively. I know it's not recommended to disable the wpForo cache, but I've noticed a difference of about 200% by taking this route.
@robert - any thoughts ?
Before WP-Rocket with wpForo caching - https://gtmetrix.com/reports/inocul8r.net/gQfaKvNB
After with wpForo caching disabled, and WP-Rocket enabled - https://gtmetrix.com/reports/inocul8r.net/mOfJw4Cl
As you can see, there's a huge difference - I'm curious to know if
a) disabling the wpForo cache is "ok"
b) have I missed something here ?
Thanks !
@anonymous3542 i don't see how ANY caching plugin works right with wpForo.
I mean, are the forum list / topics /widgets updated when something is changed ? Do they ?
As for the rest, i think the decision of wpForo team to have their own caching is not that good. There are much better and dedicated caching plugins.
@anonymous20 there are major differences, which I am concerned about - particularly as my site is gaining momentum.

In my testing, yes - provided you completely disable all wpForo caching. WP-Rocket leverages private user caching (similar to litespeed) which also works very well.

I agree with this 100%.
@anonymous20 just coming back here with an update. With wpForo caching disabled, and WP-Rocket enabled, there are no issues at all.
- Wigets update correctly
- Notifications (wpForo) work fine
- Like / Unlike etc works fine
And, Private User Caching is enabled.
@anonymous20 another point I missed. WP-Rocket will preload every page in your /forum/ setup using the wpForo sitemap. My site has 400+ preloaded pages, and now runs like a, well, "rocket".
