How can I disable it when someone signs up they have to confirm it in their email before getting access?
Inside the HTML form for registration, there is no password field. So it will not be able to disable the confirmation mail, since the member would not be able to set a password.
But wpforo uses the WordPress user management. Maybe you can find a WordPress plugin, which allows user registration without confirmation mail. In that case, you would need to forward the users to /wp-login.php. Additional, you would have to disable the replacement of the WordPress registration page with the wpforo registration page inside the wpforo settings (WordPress Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features)
