We're working through our forums setup. Caching came up today. And yes, I have read the FAQ about cache software. This post does not concern plugin caching systems.
We have no caching plugins. We do have both a server cache and Cloudflare edge cache. Both of these caching systems are very good and scale well. We have had problems with WPDiscuz features that ended up locking up our site under load. So I am concerned that if we add rules disabling our server and cloudflare caches that the built in caching system will not scale with load.
The site sees very heavy peak traffic on weekend mornings, something like 120K page views over 4-6 hours. This traffic caused the "live update" function of WPDiscuz to bring the site to a full stop (hosted on a very powerful AWS server).
Have you have tested WPForo's caching system under heavy loads?
Can WPForo's cache be disabled in favor of a server cache?
Have you tested compatibility with server level caching system or with Cloudflare?
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Kim,
wpForo comes with many layers of built-in cache, it doesn't need other cache solutions. Please read this topic: https://wpforo.com/community/faq/wpforo-and-cache-plugins/
