We have an issue where an Avatar image can't be changed. When the user tries to replace a former image, the original image remains visible, although the desired new image shows in the faint background and within the members profile in the Forums control panel. We tried switching to the default image and then back again and then uploading the new image again. Each time we go back to the uploaded image it displays the original one we wish to replace. How can we remedy this? Why are there no options within CP to delete images? But, even if there was, the replaced image we want shows there now but not live in the forums - where it's still the original unwanted image that shows up and - nowhere except there.

Hi @starman71,

I have checked your website and didn't see any issue with the avatars, please provide a screenshot of the issue you have.

Hi there, I see you joined the forum and added an avatar. Did you try to change it? I also see that the avatar we were having issues with now shows two different ways. See the attached screen shot where you can see the replaced image in background but the old image as the main image. This is what shows when the member (me as a test user) signs in and looks at the zenman profile, even after refreshing and deleting cache. So perhaps it is a caching issue? Can you provide tips to avoid this in the future? As in what to do so that caching doesn't prevent a user changing their image. Also, is there a way to actually delete an image of a user within the wpForo CP? This might be helpful in assisting them to change it and having the new image view immediately when it is uploaded.

@starman71,

Your avatar comes from WordPress.com account, wpForo cannot overwrite WordPress.com bases WordPress user avatars.

As far as I know, I never registered this account with WP. Every step was done with and through wpForo. I registered the account to test the board.

I checked and confirmed there is no WP account for the zenman user I created. So it doesn't fly that the image comes from that. It was inputted as the third option at registration where you upload your own image. It wasn't a WP gravatar image or from a linked image. So this image is staying around and can't be changed even when it doesn't show up anywhere and the new image shows in the control panel of wpForo and the cache has been emptied many times. I also still do not know if there is a way to delete a user's image in the CP for wpForo. I haven't seen an answer to that question.
