Users are complaining that their posts are being edited, and replaced with "remove link" even when they are not posting links of any kind. The spam system seems to be trashing their posts with false "removed link" edits.
I turned off ALL the spam control, and got more complaints anyway.

You should not turn off spam options. Please revert those back. This function is based on "Min number of posts to be able post links" option. Just set it "0", that's it.

Even at zero, it doesn't always work right. I see the link removed from time to time, with no reason.

That's impossible. Set it zero and test it. It should not remove links. This is only for removing links not for moderation.
