Thank you Robert nevertheless I do not believe that this solves my problem 🙂
Indeed, users who have paid have access to my entire private forum, which is normal. Then when they unsubscribe (stop their payment) they no longer have access to the forum (which is also normal). The problem is, they still receive email notifications for new replies from topics they've subscribed to.
So my question is: is there a solution to stop the notifications for this users specifically ?

wpForo doesn't send notification to users who don't have access to the forum. I have no idea how your users get access to the paid forum. If all is based on usergroup changes then the usergroup should have No Access in each forum and the user will not receive any notification from that forum.
