Hi,

Any idea why all the background colors are gone? No settings have been changed, just updated to the latest version. I have default color style activated.

Thanks,

Hi gombi1,

We didn't make any changes related to this. Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Settings admin page, click on "Update Options" button. Then delete all caches and do CTRL+ F5 on frontend. Just let us know if the problem still exists.

This is related to the security plugins and your hosting server file writing permissions. wpForo can't create dynamic colors.css file in fie system for some reason. Please disable /wp-content/ and /plugins/ folder hardening functions of security plugins. Then disable all plugins related to file security and caching. We don't see the dynamic color css file on your website:

wp-content/plugins/wpforo/wpf-themes/classic/colors.css

This file is not created. Make sure the folders (mentioned above) of your file system has 755 permission.

I also recommend deactivate wpForo, delete it, search and install it again. then do Ctrl+F5 twice on forum front to re-generate colors.css file in wp-content/plugins/wpforo/wpf-themes/classic/ directory. Your customized colors are not lost, they are saved in database, we just need to find the reason why the colors.css file is not created. Once it created all colors will be back.

Thanks for your advice.
I deactivated all security related plugins. I don't use any caching plugins. Folder permissions are correct. I've used the default color profile since day one, so that should be stored in the database, right? It was working without issues before.

I tried to change the color in the backend, but it does not create the color.css.
I'm afraid deleting the wpforo plugin...I don't want to lose any posts.  🤨

Even if I chmod the directory to 777, the file is not created when I change the color style.

Why not?

There is no security path protection plugin installed.

Robert, can I delete the plugin and reinstall without loosing any information from my forum?
