Hello

I need the forum in Danish - what and how do I translate the file? (I am a newbie) 😛

I have downloaded Poedit, but aparently it's pretty costly to have things translated there??

Thank you 🙂

Hi mvriborg,

There are several methods to create a translation, most of which are outlined in the WordPress Codex. In most cases you can contribute to the project on translate.wordpress.org, however, for creating custom translations, you can use a plugin called Loco Translate.

More info how to translate is in the doc:  https://wpforo.com/docs/root/translation/translate-using-pot-file/

For quick translation, you can use Dashboard > Forums > Phrases admin page. Find the phrase you want, edit and put new translated value. if you don't find the phrase, you can add it. The phrase key must be in English.

More info here:  https://wpforo.com/docs/root/translation/quick-translation-phrases/

Hi @mvriborg,

The Danish (Denmark) translation file already exists and it includes lots of phrase translation. It'll automatically be loaded and forum will be translated once you change WordPress language to Dansk in Dashboard > Settings > General admin page.

It maybe incomplete and some phrases can still be in English. For farther translation please follow to Sofy's post above.

Hi - thanx, but the site is already in Danish - it's the forum, that I need translated 😉

Yes, and forum is based on site language. If site is in Danish then the forum is already in Danish. And you'll see some phrases already translated in Danish. If some are not it means the Danish language file is not complete (wpforo/wpf-languages/wpforo-da_DK.po), you should complete it using Poedit software or use the Phrase system.

Hi @plaurits,

If there are words which had not been translated, you need to translate them yourself, If the count of the word is small you can use wpForo Phrases From Dashboard > Forums > Phrases Page, if there are lots of translations left I Recommend using Loco Translate Plugin .
