Updated wpForo and it broke my site, throwing Internal 500 errors.

I deactivated all the plugins via FTP, enabled them one by one and wpForo was the one that triggered the error.

How to fix this issue? And how do I roll back to the previous version?

EDIT: Used WP Rollback plugin to go back to older version and everything is working again.

Hi @annabwashere,

Probably it was some server error. Please, backup your website then try to update the wpForo plugin again. There shouldn't be such an issue.

@sofy

Backed up the site and tried again. Still getting the same Internal 500 Server error.

Please, make sure you don't have old wpForo template files in your WordPress theme folder or you don't have old wpForo functions called in your theme functions.php file.  Also, please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Debug > Errors & Issues Tab and let us know, what errors you see.

Enable Wordpress DEBUG TO A LOG and check for errors. Report them here.

Because Internal error 500 doesn't say anything for the real error, could be anything.

Could be low memory for php or many other things.

Here's the error log:

[23-Jul-2019 21:56:54 UTC] PHP Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; phpFlickr has a deprecated constructor in /home1/brickcen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/flickr-justified-gallery/phpFlickr_a1/phpFlickr.php on line 25

I deactivated that plugin and tried to update wpForo again but still got Internal 500.

That is just a notice for the future, it is not causing the error.

I guess you have to ask your hosting provider what is the EXACT error from their logs.

Are you using a linux or windows server, do you know ?

How much memory you have available ?

Can you post a url to your site ?
