When a new user goes to register, the URL in the email to verify isn't hyperlinked or clickable. Users have to copy and paste it in to their browser. How do we change that?

Hi @jeff-v23

>> wpForo email shortcodes

(Rule: _url vs _link in shortcodes)

@tutrix so currently it says:

To set your password, visit the following address:

[set_password_url]

... so I just need to change that to be:

To set your password, visit the following address:

[set_password_link]

Is that correct?

I tried the above suggested and it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

It's not a good user experience if people have to try and highlight, copy and paste the confirmation link, especially when on mobile phone.

@jeff-v23,

This email is being sent by WordPress, not by wpForo. Most of the email providers change URLs to links automatically, so the issue comes from your email provider, it should work fine in almost all email services. wpForo cannot provide any solution because the email is generated and sent from WordPress. And the email displaying options are set in your email provider.

wpForo can only manage and fix the following emails

  • User following emails
  • Topic and post subscriptions emails
  • Forum subscriptions email
  • User mentioning emails

The following emails are generated and managed by WordPress:

  • User Registration email
  • Password reset email

You can use some plugin to manage these to emails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/email+template/

Make sure the plugin you selected doesn't affect wpForo emails.

@robert Got it. That makes sense now. Thank you for clearing that up!
