Hello, I am a bit confused about the difference between wpFORO user roles & WordPress user roles. This is very important to me as I am hoping to use your addon for blog cross posting ( https://gvectors.com/product/wpforo-cross-posting/)
I hope to allow users to interact both on the front end site with blogs in the comments, while also interacting with those same blogs within the forums.
I searched for detail on this but could not find much.
When a user registers via wpFORO, is a WordPress user automatically created?
What if they register via wpDiscuz or WordPress comments?
How do we connect these seamlessly?
Thank you kindly.
Hi @questiontravel ,
Please read this FAQ topic, it'll help you to understand who wpForo access control is being done: https://wpforo.com/community/faq/wordpress-user-roles-wpforo-usergroups-and-forum-accesses/#post-39664
When a user registers via wpFORO, is a WordPress user automatically created?
Yes, wpForo users are the same WordPress users. wpForo doesn't have separate users it just has a specific usergroups for that users to control their access to forums. Users get user roles by WordPress and usergroup by wpForo.

How do we connect these seamlessly?
It doesn't matter. if user is registered in WordPress then he/she is a wpForo user as well. He/she gets the default WordPress User Role (subscriber) and the default wpForo Usergroup (Registered) automatically. Because the "Subscriber" user role is synched with "Registered" usergroup in the wpForo > Usergroups admin page.
Thank you kindly Robert. I missed the FAQ there, I appreciate your assistance and guidance here.
