We've just released wpForo 1.9.8 version.
This is a bug-fix version. Lots of bugs are fixed, some of them are listed in the release changelog.

Important update notes
- After the update, please delete all caches.
- If you have a Minifier/Optimizer plugins, please delete all caches.
- If you use CDN and found some issues, please purge it.
- Some JS and CSS files are changed, please refresh (press Ctrl+F5) on forum front-end twice to reset browser cache, otherwise you'll see crashed design.

Are there plans to make wpForo like FB comments, like a live post update without page refresh?
Also if you can tell what type of protection you use on this website wpForo against crawlers, I see a message sometimes and I would like to add on my own websites such prtotection.

It's impossible with WordPress + PHP Hosting service. They cannot perform frequent requests. here is my comment on live chat feature: https://wpforo.com/community/general-discussions/upgrade-suggestions-for-2020/#post-55414
We may also work on forum service (SaaS) so you'll be able to load forum from 3rd party server which is built for live update and real-time commenting. In any case, this will come outside the WordPress.
