Is there a timeframe for development of improved features of WP Foro?
I know this is a new piece of software, but I am just wondering if there are developers currently developing any new features/tools for WP Foro.
I'm also curious if new features are released down the road, are they all expected to be subscription based paid add-ons. The reason I ask is that I'm surprised by the price cost of just adding Private Messaging. $35/year is rather expensive for the web forum software market. I could swallow a one time purchase. But, if I were to pay $35/annually for just the PM feature, and down the road I buy just two more add-ons, I would already be over $100/year; a cost which is basically the cost of full CMS vbulletin license.
Anyway, like I said, I'm just curious as to what, if anything, is in the works; And, if there are things in development, are they all expected to be paid subscription based add-ons?
I'm sorry but there is no time-frame. We release new versions at least one time per month. there are about three hundreds of new features which are currently planned to add in free core wpForo so please be patient, we do our best to release new features as soon as possible.
Addon price includes six key things:

I would already be over $100/year; a cost which is basically the cost of full CMS vbulletin license.
Please note, if you buy three and more addons, you get automatic discount 20%-50%. For example the three most popular addons (Attachments, Embeds, PM) will cost you just $56 if you buy them together.
The full CMS vbulletin license price is $249 + $169(brand removal) = $418, but not $100. And you'll not be able to use it with most powerful WordPress CMS. vBulletin CMS doesn't have even 1% of WordPress CMS extendability. wpForo free core with free support and with free WordPress CMS will always be better choice than $418 vB with limited features and limited support. You also can spend $11-$56 to get Advanced Attachments, Embeds and PMs.
Hold up, are the licences only for a year? I thought the licence was forever and it was the support that was limited to a year. Please clarify because I certainly will have to fold if this is going to be a yearly cost.
For addon license we provide premium support and one year updates to all future releases. After one year you should renew your license to get product updates (there is no any subscriptions, you just need to buy the same product again if you want). However you'll still be able to use the version you have for unlimited time even if license is expired. In most cases after one year the addon becomes very stable and there will not be often and critical updates so you'll be able use it for very long time without updating it.
