Is there an easy way for someone to view the Private forums he is participating ?

I'm sorry but not. The easiest way is this:
- You should create new Usergroup, for example Private Forum Reader.
- Set Standard Access to Private Forum Reader Usergroup in that forum.
- Add this new Usergroup as Secondary Usergroup to that User.
For any case, don't forget delete wpForo cache. But I'm almost sure that'll be done automatically.
