Why do you care about rel attributes of a website you don't own or operate?

Because outgoing links are actually VOTES to that site .....

@dimalifragis Yes you right!

Read now this is theme https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/why-is-google-indexing-private-forum-content/ where you discussed too. Robots.txt this is reconendation for bots. But not rules. If you Disallow: some page on your site but this is page have some backlinks bots index this is. page 99.9%

If you want hidden from index some page you must add noindex https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/block-indexing?hl=en this is guaranteed!

Better use https://wpforo.com/docs/wpforo-v2/settings/wpforo-seo/ Noindex forum page URLs. Better solution. But not ideal because not response any code.

@annushka No search engine can index data that is hidden from public eye.

And your suggestion for noindex in general is not correct. Personally i want dofollow links in my posts and topics.

For you, there is a Wordpress plugin that takes care of that globally. Old, but works great:

Yes correct! But if you need steel page available for users (without pass) but hidden from google robots best solution tag noindex.

This is your choice! If your site popular how like twitter you can have dofollow external URLs. But I dnot want have all urls dofollow. You can check how many forums from Google TOP 3 have all links dofollow, I think not more 3%...

I trying. Thanks. But I dont think this help...

@dimalifragis I know, but why does SHE care? She doesn't own this website. It doesn't affect her.

What is dofollow link
Dofollow links are those that allow Google and other search engines to point back to your website or blog.
So, every time you insert a dofollow link on your site, it can point back to you, which strengthens your authority by showing search engines what other sites, blogs, and posts are linking to you.
For example: if Rock Content uses on its blog a link from company X that is dofollow, the page or blog post used in the link will be taken into account in the ranking.
This is called Link Juice by some users, and it occurs because of Google’s PageRank metric.
Therefore, when inserting external links on your blog, make sure they are from sites with good authority, as this will be very important for the growth of your blog’s authority.

A dofollow link is a hyperlink that links to another page or website and is used by search engines to help rank websites. They help search engines to understand how popular a page is, which in turn influences its ranking in search results on Google and other search engines. Every dofollow link to an external site can be considered a 'vote' or recommendation for that site. There are many additional factors, but ranking highly in search results is usually, at least partially, a consequence of a page being linked to from many different websites.

@annushka There's no such thing as a dofollow link. Dofollow is simply a link without a nofollow rel attribute.
