Yes, you can turn it on in Forums > Settings > Features admin page. Option name is "Enable User Registration email confirmation" option.

You also can install one of this CAPTCHA plugins and enable it on wpForo Registration form:

FS reCAPTCHA: https://wordpress.org/plugins/fast-secure-recaptcha/

SI CAPTCHA: https://wordpress.org/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/

Also please read all changelogs of new release to be informed about new changes. there were lots of new things added: https://wpforo.com/community/wpforo-announcements/

I already have the "Enable User Registration email confirmation" set to Yes and another reCAPTCHA plugin enabled. It's not stopping the signups. It might be stopping them posting spam comments but I'm still getting a dozen or so new members registered every day which I'm then having to delete. I would like to be able to prevent those registrations taking place to begin with. Is that not possible?

Remove any captcha and install The Shield plugin. Configure it properly (and carefully) and see if it helps you. That way you are also secure and registrations/spam etc are low. At least for me.

Let us know.

Are you sure you don't have other unprotected register forms. For example the default /wp-login.php Check it and make sure your antispam solution also work for this.

Make sure the reCAPTCHA is activated for wpForo Registration form. Also disable WordPress default registration in Dashboard > Settings admin page (Option: anyone can register).

Wordpress default registration is disabled. The default /wp-login.php is protected by reCAPTCHA and two-factor authentication. The reCAPTCHA plugin I'm using is Better WordPress reCAPTCHA and it's enabled for all form types but it's not showing up on the forum registration form.

Anonymous20 I use the Sucuri Security plugin. I presume I would need to remove this if I wanted to use The Shield instead?
