First and foremost, thanks for the great software. I love it.

I'm in the process of moving some posts from an Invision forum to a wpForo forum. Because I have to do this manually, I've been copying and pasting everything. Some of the posts from the old forum contain a number of links with text. The problem is that wpForo won't accept the links in either bbcode or html form. The only way I can get them to appear in the correct format is to enter each link in the hyperlink dialogue box and then add the text. As I have hundreds of links to transfer, doing it this way is going to take me ages.

What is wpForo's hyperlink code? If I knew that, then I could post all of the bb-coded links into an MS Word doc and then use the find and replace function to replace the old code with wpForo's.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm sorry, but wpForo is an HTML content based forum and doesn't support BBCode.

I'll ask the wpForo developers, probably there is another way to do it. I'll let you know asap.

@obie

Please let us know how have you copied you the links. If you copy it from the the frontend you'll just need to paste if to the edit and it'll work fine.

If you have the HTML version of the code you can use the source code button  ( {;} ) and paste the text as HTML in the source code area.

Thanks for your response.  Using the source code does work, but it's very clumsy--I have to reformat the code because of the double spacing the software creates. So what I'm going to do is post the links in a Wordpress blog post and link to it in the forum.

Obie, did you ever get a satisfactory answer to your problem pasting web links into the editor? The best I've found is to Paste As Plain text, but then having to add in the links manually is really a pain. Arghh...
