We just released wpForo 1.4.8 version.
Note: After the update please delete all caches and do Ctrl+F5 on forum front.
Some planned features have been moved to 1.5.0 because of making wpForo GDPR compliant. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was finally approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016. Enforcement date: 25 May 2018 – at which time those organizations in non-compliance may face heavy fines. More info at GDPR Portal.
wpForo 1.4.8 comes with many tools and options to help you with GDPR compliance.

UPDATE NOTES
- To load your customized colors please refresh forum front-end page twice.
- If you have a Cache Plugin, please delete all caches after wpForo update.
- If you use CDN and found some issue please purge it.
- If you have an old (1.4.2 or lower) customized copy of wpForo forum template files in your WP theme /wpforo/ folder please update them.
- If you see style issues after update, please refresh forum page twice or do Ctrl+F5 on forum front-end to load new styles.
- If you have wpForo addons, please update them right after wpForo forum update. Don’t update them before wpForo forum update.
Before I install the update, can you advise how this will work in tandem with my plugin WP Simple Membership - currently my users sign up via this plugin, as it is a paid membership, and a forum account is automatically created for them because of their wordpress profile. Will that continue to happen or are they required to join via the wpForo sign up process and agree to all the policies?

Just installed this update and will begin exploring in more detail tomorrow. This is nothing more than a big thank you for such an amazing product that's like a fine wine - it gets better with age. All that's needed now from my perspective is integration with Ultimate Member, but hey - I can wait 😊

Did you not include the fix for the stopping private topic posts being listed in the footer status bar, as detailed here, or was it delayed due to the GDPR urgency?

I think there should not be any issue. All these options are related to forum part, they doesn't affect other plugins. Nothing will be changed in your website authorization and registration functions.
If you have a site-wide privacy policy you can add some text regarding to forum data usage. This is all what you need to do. There is a forum privacy policy template in Forums > Tools > Privacy and Rules admin page. This template includes all information about wpForo data usage, processing, controlling, etc..

In near future releases we're planning to add three more buttons (LinkedIn, Reddit, WhatsApp). The only reason why you don't see any share button is the large number of options. I'm sorry, but we can't add them all, however we'll add a few more new share buttons periodically in future releases.

We add the topic ordering logic. See screenshot. This is not the same as filter logic, we don't add the filter logic at all.

We've removed iframe tag from post content by default. This is an insecure tag. However, if your sure your user will not use iframe tag to load viruses from other sites you can enable it back. Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools admin page, and in Antispam tab find the option to enable extra HTML tags. Put this in the textarea:
iframe(src width height),
If you can add another way to embed videos it would be nice.
at the moment this is the only option...
