I keep changing the system wide default profile cover image, but as soon as I click the "Save Options" button, the cover image returns to the default image. I've also tried changing my own personal cover image, but that one also returned to the default image.

@nomadicyeti,

works fine in our test websites.

Please try it again, use other images.

Make sure the images are not too large.

Check database errors in wpForo > Tools > Database Tables admin page.

Also, please press F12, go to the "console" tab and take a screenshot of red marked errors.

Thanks Robert. I've reduced the image size now. It's now 1000 x 354 pixels. The image size is 180KB (JPG).

I've checked the databases, and the screen says "No problems found in database".

I've tried another image, but the image still doesn't get saved.

I'm not sure where you want me to press F12 in order to access a "console" tab. How would I access that?

Is this the console you're referring to?

@nomadicyeti,

Make sure that you are using wpForo's last version 2.0.5

It seems your website is installed in WordPress.com hosting service.

In any case, please try to disable all plugin, especially the JetPack and all kind of CDN/Cache solutions. Then check it again, if the problem is resolved then activate all one by one and check after each plugin. This will let you find the conflict maker plugin.

@Robert I've deactivated all plugins except wpForo. I also deleted my browser cache for good measure. Then I tried to change the default profile cover photo but had the same results as in my screen recording above. I can upload the graphic, save the changes, and even get a message that says, "Successfully Done", but then the default cover image is back to the desk photo again.

One thing to note: I copied my database tables from a different subdomain (home.caf-international.net) to this rebuild on the root directory (caf-international.net). I made sure that the new domain used the same WordPress table prefix as the previous site. It seems to have worked in that the forum is functional and includes all the old posts, etc. Do you think this default cover image is related to the domain move?

@nomadicyeti,

Ok, this could be db issue. Please navigate to wpForo > Tools > Database Tables tab and check the database errors, if you see any, please click the [Solve Problems] button.

@Robert Database shows "No problems found".

Error Log shows repeated errors for memory exceeding maximum allowed on line 164 and on line 1617.

@dimalifragis Where do I make that change? Would that be in cPanel?

@Robert Is this relevant? My Boards page has been showing "not found" for the page. I can't figure out what needs to change for that. Would this be connected?

@dimalifragis https://caf-international.net/community/forum

That's only accessible with a login though.

It can't be "/community/forum". It can be "/community" or "/forum" or whatever other single page name you wish.

edit: from what i see it is "/forum" the page you have.

@dimalifragis Thank you! OK, I'll get that fixed. Do you think that's causing the issue of the profile cover image not saving as well?

@nomadicyeti Along with your extremely low memory allowance, it can be ...

@dimalifragis I've fixed the base URL. The forum is now on caf-international.net/forum. I've also increased the memory allowance to 512M. Still having the same issue with updating the profile cover images though.

@nomadicyeti Ok, so you fixed two major issues.

Can you check if your memory changes are ok (see the capture).

Also check the Boards error (you posted above), it is fixed?

@dimalifragis Boards error is fixed. I deleted the Page ID, hit Save (with a blank Page ID), and was assigned a new ID. It's working now.

@dimalifragis I've also fixed the memory issue. It has 512M of memory now. I noticed that the Error log doesn't have any new errors listed in the last 55 minutes now.

@nomadicyeti Ok, then i have two suggestions, if the following is ok, then i dunno.

1. Check the max allowed upload file size (you can see that in wpForo tools).

2. Permissions issues in the folders.

@dimalifragis Max upload size is 50M. Graphic I'm uploading is 180 KB.

How would I check the folder permission issues?
