... an independent forum software phpBB, but have had to change it by other forum because it uses old version of php and Google Console says that there are too small fonts on mobile devises (I hope it won’t say the same because of wpForo fonts). And when I’ve installed wpForo and have been setting it (it wasn’t in menu already, there were phpBB, so nobody cold know it’s exist), some users have registred in it and some of them have published Spam. So evidently they were robots, not people. I had many Spam abuse in my phpBB forum in other website before, but ther ... |

When you add a message through the editor TinyMCE unscrupulous users have the opportunity to add a hidden text, which is difficult to see the moderator. How to deal with it?
Example:

Hidden Spam text. Hidden Spam text. Hidden Spam text.

Example:
Hidden Spam text. Hidden Spam text. Hidden Spam text.

Hi @central4allgmail-com,
The value of the "User is New (under hard Spam control) during" option doesn't mean that all post should be moderated. In your case, value 2. It only means that the first 2 posts will be under Spam scanning. If the Spam Control doesn't suspect them as Spam the new topic will be set as public. But if it suspects one of the first posts as Spam, even the second post, it'll search for all topics and posts and set those as Spam as well. |

... Spam suspicion level can be increased in Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam admin page to something like this: Spam Suspicion Level for Topics: 45 Spam Suspicion Level for Posts: 45
Also if the topic (first post) is unapproved, all posts of this topic become automatically unapproved (post author doesn't matter). Because you can't see a post if the topic is unapproved.
You can approve new topic and posts in Dashboard > Forums > Moderation admin page. This works like WP native comment approving the process. If wpForo suspects some ... |

Only Spam suspected topics and replies become unapproved, and only new registered users topic and posts are under Spam control.
You can set New Registered user level 0 in Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam admin page.
And not all just registered users topics and posts become Unapproved. Spam suspicion level can be decreased in Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam admin page to something like this: Spam Suspicion Level for Topics: 10 Spam Suspicion Level for Posts: 10
If you don't want to have this feature, just disable wpForo ... |

Hello.
What kind of Spam are we talking about? Posts in the Forums? Spam Profiles?
Your forums are somehow hidden, so we can't check.
* Oh, i see we already talked abut it here: |

Did this addition get made? I don't see it and think it would be very valuable in controlling human Spam signups looking for backlinks in their Profiles. Thanks. |

@chris What all that have to do with Profiles Spam? Sorry but there is no option right now in wpForo for what i posted above.
As for reCaptcha, most people reporting here have that activated, probably not enough. Also reCaptcha is actually a torture for users. |

It is unlikely this issue to consume your bandwidth, still check those topics for a solution:
You better stop this with some Wordpress login/security protection plugin, since wpForo doesn't control login/registations. It is Wordpress that does.
For me, this should be blocked BEFORE the fake user registers/logins. After he registers, it is so much work to clear those out. |

Yes, I am in the same boat. What about on the registration page where it can send an email that you have to confirm before it creates an account? Any idea on if that would solve it as I am thinking that some of the Spam Profiles are not real email addresses. |

I have this same issue, about 10-20 Spam Profiles created per day. I have captcha on the registration and login pages, honeypots, Cloudflare is set to high security for those pages, I'm running All In One WP Security & Firewall, nothing is stopping it.
The only thing I can think of that might help me at this point is a custom question on the registration page, which there doesn't seem to be a way to implement with custom work. |

Previously i suggested a security plugin for your issue, because some plugins also check IPs against a database (cloud) and deny access. And because Spammers (bots or human) are from KNOWN Ips, they will be blocked. Spam and Profiles are imho best to be blocked/prevented at login/registration and not AFTER. |

@robert This is not for posts, this is for users who register and Spam their Profiles. I have recaptcha, Askimet, and everything else enabled. I even have Cloudflare security set to high for the forums. |
